WELCOME TO MY STORY
I'm here to walk alongside you
Hi, I'm Cara. I am a mother to three handsome, busy and rambunctious little boys; so I am in the trenches with you dear moms. I grew up in Sylvan Lake, and graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education degree. I taught and counselled children and youth (K-12) for 10 years in the Red Deer public school system. During this time I got my Masters in Psychology & Counselling.
I have my own journey through motherhood that has been tough, overwhelming and at times very isolating. This season in my life created the passion and deep caring I feel for mothers as they too adjust during motherhood. It has led me here with you. I can relate to many new and seasoned moms out there. Sometimes we need help to crawl out of a dark space, and I would be honoured to help you reframe your story.
I also have a passion for helping families. My experience in the school system has given a great understanding for children and teens. I believe that a deeper healing happens when the family unit is involved in the process of therapy.
